Rice bran oil: How to use effectively?
Prof. Yiqun Wang, Manager of Institute of Brain Chemistry and Human Nutrition (IBCHN) in UK, reported: “Rice bran oil is extracted from rice bran, which is very rich of valued nutrients. So how to use rice bran oil effectively?”
Dr. Mayu Aizawa, in charge of the representative office of Tsuno Food Industrial Company (Japan) in HCM city, noted, 40% of Japanese schools use rice bran oil for lunch and dinner. Rice bran oil has the benefit of less absorbent or sticky when frying with a high upsmoking point (254oC), therefore, the food is mild in color, not too fed-up and does not cause obesity.
In the same opinion, Assoc. Prof. Truong Tuyet Mai, Vice Director of National Institute of Nutrition, with over 15 years researching of rice bran oil, said that she also advised many women to mix rice bran oil in porridges for their kids, and always received positive feedbacks about mild flavor, not so strong in smell as other oils.
